Today is a special day for every Ukrainian as Ukraine traditionally marks Independence Day on August 24. 

For the second time we meet this day in conditions of a full-scale war, when Ukraine once again has to defend its freedom and right to exist in the fight against genocidal Russian aggression.

A sovereign democratic state is what generations of Ukrainians has strived for or died for over the turbulent history, it is what we are defending now. Today, we are united more than ever, and each of us puts their efforts and energy into our victory.

While protecting Ukraine’s territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty, we always honour our heroes – men and women who are fighting for Ukraine’s future, and to whom we owe our freedom. We also pay tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives. We value the assistance of our international partners in this fight.

We will stay strong and resilient! Ukraine’s freedom will prevail. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!
