The signing of the Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea, February 10, 1992 was the starting point in creating a legal framework of bilateral relations in various fields.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations a number of bilateral documents have been signed. These documents regulate relations between the two countries in political, economic, trade, scientific, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.

As of 2019, the legal framework of bilateral Ukrainian-Korean relations consist of 2 interstate documents, 25 intergovernmental, and 25 interagency documents.
