October, 17-22, 2014, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in cooperation with the Korean Institute of Public Finance and Asian Association of Central and East European Studies held the international conference "Unity over division: Korean Unification. Looking Through the Transition Experience of Central and Eastern Europe".
The participants of the conference were the representatives of expert circles and academia of the Republic of Korea and other countries, also Ambassadors and diplomats of foreign embassies, accredited in the RK, including Ambassador of Ukraine Vasyl Marmazov.
Among the main topics of the conference were: the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, Maidan protests in 2013-2014, language issues in Ukraine at the present perod of development.
The excerpt from the Welcoming speech of Ambassador of Ukraine Vasyl Marmazov at the conference: "Today, agression against Ukraine is a threat to global security everywhere. Hybrid proxy wars, terrorism, national radical and extremist movements, the erosion of international agreements, the blurring, and even erasing, of nationalerosion of international agreements, the blurring, and even erasing, of national identities: all of these threats now challenge Europe. If they are not stopped now, they will cross European borders and spread throughout the globe."
