August 29 marks the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine. The date is timed to the day of the greatest losses of the Ukrainian army in the Donbass, when in 2014 the Ukrainian military made a heroic breakthrough from the encirclement of the Russian occupation forces near the city of Ilovaisk.

On this day the State Flag of Ukraine was lowered to half-mast at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea and a minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of the defenders of Ukraine perished in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
