On June 1-2, 2015 the 2015 OSCE Asian Conference on the Changing Global Security Environment and Vision of Multilateral Security Co-operation in Asia was held in Seoul. Ukraine at this event was represented by Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Korea Vasyl Marmazov.
During the conference participants shared their views and experiences in the sphere of multilateral security cooperation. In particular, they discussed topics such as response to the phenomenon of foreign terrorist fighters, multilateral and bilateral dialogue between the regional security-related mechanisms on the efforts to prevent and counter terrorism and violent extremism, measures of disaster risk reduction, confidence-building measures on cyber security, relevance of the 1975 Helsinki Final Act and 1990 Paris Charter principles of common cooperative security in Asia, strengthening institutional cooperation between existing security mechanisms in Asia and Europe, as well as interaction with new regional initiatives, including the Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Initiative (NAPCI). During the event, the issue on the situation in Ukraine and the OSCE`s role in its resolution was repeatedly raised by participants.
The conference was attended by over 100 officials and experts from 57 OSCE participating states and 11 partner states, including Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Yun Byung-se, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Didier Burkhalter, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Minister of Thailand Tanasak Patimapragorn, Secretary General of the OSCE Lamberto Zannier and Chairperson of the OSCE Permanent Council, Permanent Representative of Serbia to the OSCE Vuk Žugić.
