During the briefing the participants were informed about the current achievements of the Korean government in this area and the main tasks facing the Ministry of Environment in 2012.

Korean officials also presented the activity in the framework of the international program IPBES – “Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services”. IPBES will be an interface between the scientific community and policy makers that aims to build capacity for and strengthen the use of science in policy making.
