On November 21, Ambassador of Ukraine Dmytro Ponomarenko delivered a commemorative lecture dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine for the students of the Department of Ukrainian studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The Ambassador of Ukraine spoke about the crime of genocide committed by the Soviet regime against the Ukrainian people and drew parallels with Russia's use of food as a weapon in today's war against Ukraine. A short documentary and a poster exhibition about the tragic page of Ukraine’s history were also presented.
As a part of the implementation of the "Ukrainian bookshelf" project under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, a selection of literature on history, culture and traditions of Ukraine was donated to the Department’s library.
We sincerely thank the leadership of the University and the Department of Ukrainian Studies at HUFS for supporting the initiative and organizing today's event. We wish future Ukrainian specialists success in their studies.
