On Novemebr 19, the Embassy of Ukraine held a commemorative event in the War Memorial of Korea marking 1,000 days since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
This significant milestone, though filled with sorrow, reminds us of the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people in the face of ongoing aggression, and the unwavering global support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In his remarks, Ambassador of Ukraine
Dmytro Ponomarenko urged the international community to remain united opposing Russia’s aggression and ensuring Ukraine’s victory for peace and a democratic future.
We honoured the lives lost and the sacrifices made as well as the enduring strength of those who continue to fight for peace, justice, and freedom, with a minute of silence.
We are deeply grateful to our Korean partners and colleagues from over 30 diplomatic missions, whose presence and solidarity made this event truly meaningful.
We appreciate the contribution of Professor of Music Mr. Bai llhwan and the students from Ewha Womans University, whose musical performance including the National Anthem of Ukraine added a heartfelt tribute to the occasion.
We thank the War Memorial of Korea and Korean Culture Association for the assistance in hosting the event.
