Screenings of Ukrainian films at Gwangju Biennale

Visit Ukrainian Pavilion at 14th Gwangju Biennale from April 7 to July 9!


The program of the Ukrainian Pavilion this year offers an opportunity to learn about Ukraine through three contemporary films directed in different genres.


“Mariupol. Unlost Hope” by Max Lytvynov, three stories from eyewitnesses of russia’s crimes in Mariupol.

Toloka” by Mihaylo Іllienko, a version of Ukraine’s history based on a well-known lyrical poem.


Carol of the Bells” by Olesya Morgunets-Isaenko, an emotional story of loss, friendship and family love.


Screenings will be held every Saturday, except for May 20, at Asia Culture Center (Theatre 3). The opening ceremony and films screenings will be held on May 21.
Admission is free. English and Korean subtitles available.

The Ukrainian Pavilion is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea, hosted by Gwangju Biennale Foundation and Gwangju Metropolitan City, in cooperation with Asia Culture Center, TRA Media, Ukrainian State Film Agency, The Organization of Ukrainian Producers.
