On July 3-4, the Ambassador of Ukraine Dmytro Ponomarenko visited the beautiful city of  Gangneung in the East Coast of Korea. This year the city hosts the world's largest choral competition "World Choir Games 2023".

The international event brought together more than 7,000 participants from 46 countries. 323 choral teams took part in the competition. In the result of the joint efforts of the Gangneung Organizing Committee of World Choir Games 2023 and Joint Action Committee for supporting Ukraine the Ukrainian female choir "Vognyk" was invited as a special guest to this important event in the world of music. 

As a sign of solidarity with Ukraine, the participation of representatives of the aggressor country russia was canceled and the event's symbols were decorated in Ukrainian colors.

The First Lady of Korea Kim Keon-hee in her speech at the opening ceremony, noted the participation of Ukrainian team despite the war. She also personally welcomed "Vognyk" choristers and expressed heartfelt support for our country.

We are grateful to Korea, the city of Gangneung and the organizers of the event for such a strong support of Ukraine. 

The competition will be held until July 13, and you will be able to enjoy the performance of 38 of our talented girls from the Kyiv region during the closing ceremony. 

Residents and guests of Seoul city have the opportunity to hear the magical singing of the Ukrainian choir on July 8 during the morning service at the Sarang Church (starting at 6:15 a.m.; address: 서울 서초구 반포로대 121).
