On November 23, the Embassy of Ukraine hosted the event dedicated to commemoration of the victims of the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933.
We welcomed special guests, Korean children who are being raised deprived of parental care.
During this touching meeting, we presented the cultural heritage, incredible beauty of nature, unique traditions of Ukraine and the unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people.
The girls learned about how their peers in Ukraine are currently living in conditions of war. Stories about daily difficulties, life in shelters due to constant missile attacks and the resilience of the Ukrainian children evoked sincere interest and compassion.
We also talked about the most tragic page of Ukrainian history - the man-made mass famine organised by the Soviet regime, aiming to destroy the will of the Ukrainian people.
Our little guests showed solidarity and created drawings with heartfelt wishes for peace, addressed to the Ukrainian children affected by the war.
The girls also created a traditional charm “Motanka” doll by their own hans at the workshop.
