As a result of active cooperation between Ukraine and Korea in science and technology sphere on August 22, 2013 at 11.39 pm (Seoul local time), from the launch site “Yasny” (Russian Federation), with the direct participation of Ukrainian specialists was launched the rocket carrier “Dnipro” which orbited the Korean satellite KOMPSAT-5 (Arirang-5).

The rocket carrier “Dnipro” was created on the basis of intercontinental ballistic missile RS-20, which was developed by the SE “Pivdenne Design Bureau” and made by the SE “Pivdenmash” in Dnipropetrovsk city (Ukraine).
