On April 12, 2017 Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva met with the Vice Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea Lee Jun-Won in Sejong City and with the Director General of Imported Food Safety Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Food and Drugs Safety of the Republic of Korea Kim Young-Gyuen in Cheongju City.

During the meetings prospects of promoting bilateral agrarian cooperation was discussed as agro-products made up more than 67% of Ukrainian export to the Republic of Korea in 2016. As the Republic of Korea is net importer of foodstuff there is a considerable potential for increasing volume and expanding the scope of Ukrainian supplies.

Certification of Ukrainian diary, poultry and seafood products, realization of joint agricultural projects, procurement and joint assemblage of agricultural machinery in Ukraine and other issues were elaborated.
