On April 11, 2017 the 4th Ukrainian-Korean Economic Forum was held in Seoul. It was co-organized by Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (UCCI) and Korean International Trade Association (KITA), while supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine.

Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva, UCCI President Gennadiy Chyzhykov, Charge d`Affaires of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea Taras Fedunkiv, Advisor of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vladyslava Rutytska, former First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Chalyi, Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Lee Tae Ho, Chairman of the Land, Infrastructure and Transportation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Cho Jeong Sik, former Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Park Gwan Yong took part in the Forum. Ukrainian delegation was represented by the leaders of Kyiv Investment Agency, “SigmaBleyzer”, “Grant Thornton”, “AgroGeneration” and other companies. More than 100 Korean companies participated in the Forum, including flagship corporations “Нyundai E&C“, “Posco Daewoo”, “Lotte”, “SK Holdings”, “Ssangyong E&C” and “Cheil Bio”.

Speakers at the Forum prioritized bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, infrastructural development, energy production and IT. Master Plan on economic cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea was presented. During B2B meetings a number of promising business projects was scrutinized alongside with their legal and consulting support.

Memorandum of Understanding between UCCI and KITA was signed during the Forum. KITA was invited to send its delegation to explore the potential of doing business in Ukraine. The Forum gave another impetus to economic cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea which was strongly revived in 2016.
