Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Korea Vasyl Marmazov took part in the 7th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity that had been held May 31 through June 2, 2012 on Jeju island.

The event was attended by more than 2000 scientists, experts and officials from many countries, including Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Kim Hwang-sik, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the ROK Kim Sung-hwan, Minister of Knowledge Economy of South Korea Hong Suk-woo, Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism of the ROK Choi Kwang-sik, the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Omurbek Babanov, former Prime Minister of Australia Paul Keating, co-founder of Apple Inc. Steve Wozniak.

In the framework of the Forum, themed «New Trends and the Future of Asia», over 60 sessions have been held. The participants discussed wide range of issues related to peace and prosperity, in particular, nuclear non-proliferation and peaceful use of nuclear power, Korean reunification, democracy and human rights in Asia, energy cooperation and peace in East Asia, international aid, transportation cooperation, international cooperation for environment and ecological conservation, fusion of Asian culture and community building, IT and business strategy, tourism, education, gender and disabled problems, etc.

During the Forum Ambassador of Ukraine Vasyl Marmazov met with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan O.Babanov and the OSCE Secretary General L.Zannier.
