On March 21, 2018 Ambassador of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea Olexander Horin met with the President and CEO of «Korea Aerospace Industries» (KAI) Mr. Kim Jo Won.
Ukrainian part pointed out that cooperation in the sphere of science and technology is an important factor for development of bilateral relations between our countries. Ukraine and the Republic of Korea have plenty of opportunities for mutually beneficial interaction in aerospace industry.
Korean partners were informed that in Ukraine, more than one hundred types and modifications of passenger, transport and special-purpose aircraft had been developed by Antonov Company. More than 22,000 units of Antonov-designed airplanes were built. Ukrainian Space Industry has 26 state-owned enterprises & institutions with ~21,000 employees. The main are «Yuzhnoye State Design Office» and «Yuzhmash», serial producer.
The example of fruitful cooperation was the Ukrainian-made carrier rocket «Dnipro» that three times successfully launched into orbit South Korean satellites KOMPSAT-5, KOMPSAT -3, KOMPSAT-3A.
In this regard further prospects of extending cooperation were discussed.
