On September 11, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea held a reception on the occasion of the celebration of the 27th anniversary of Ukraine's independence and the 100th anniversary of the national liberation.
The event was attended by Mr. Yun Kang-hyeon, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea, representatives of political, business and academic circles of the host country, clergies, heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of the Ukrainian community.
In a welcome speech Olexander Horin, Ambassador of Ukraine emphasized the importance of the abolishment of visa-regime for Ukrainian citizens to invigorate the bilateral relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea. The ambassador also thanked the Korean side for supporting the UN General Assembly resolution “Territorial integrity of Ukraine”. Also the steady growth and progress in reforming the economy of Ukraine and the recent developments in granting Autocephaly to Ukrainian Orthodox Church by Ecumenical Patriarchate were mentioned.
On his turn, the Deputy Foreign Minister said that “Korea will support Ukraine along with the international community so that Ukraine can move towards peace, stability and prosperity”.
