On December 12, 2018, the Ukrainian delegation headed by H.E. Mr.Andriy Parubiy, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine, met H.E. Mr.Moon Hee-Sang, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of Ukrainian-Korean cooperation, including development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the possibility of political support from the legislative authority of the Republic of Korea in the visa liberalization process for Ukrainian citizens, intensification of cooperation in the field of economy and investment, as well as further political dialogue on the highest level.

The Ukrainian side particularly highlighted the situation regarding continued aggression by the Russian Federation and transferred to the Korean side the «Address by the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine to the United Nations, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, the National Parliaments with regard to another act of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine»

As an outcome of the meeting both sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, and agreed to take further steps to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support the efforts of parliamentary friendship groups.
