On the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, celebrated annually on July 28, the State Flag was solemnly raised at the Embassy of Ukraine.

The day is to remind all Ukrainians of our State’s succession and its thousand-year history - from the founding of Kyiv through the heyday of Kyivan Rus under Volodymyr the Great.

The date was chosen for a reason, as July 28 is symbolically associated with baptizing of Kyivans by Prince Volodymyr the Great (the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus-Ukraine).
