Ambassador of Ukraine
Dmytro Ponomarenko gave an interview to “Hankook Ilbo”, discussing Ukraine's cooperation with the Republic of Korea, shared security challenges, and opportunities for international collaboration.
Key comments:
- We invite Korean defence enterprises to cooperate with Ukrainian state and private companies, focusing on mutually beneficial collaboration.
- The concept for a just peace for Ukraine is reflected in the Peace Formula and the Victory Plan. It includes four key elements:
• respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine;
• the principle of "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine";
• NATO membership for Ukraine;
• the complete lifting of restrictions on arms supplies Ukraine and the use of these weapons against military targets in russia.
- North Korean troops in the Kursk region may outnumber Ukraine’s defenders but lack qualitative advantage. Russia exploits them as "cannon fodder" in its “meat waves” tactics, resulting in 3,800 casualties out of 12,000 soldiers.
- The Ukrainian Army, unlike the Russian one, upholds international humanitarian law, treating its prisoners of war humanely and in compliance with Geneva Conventions. The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has recently released a Voluntary Report detailing compliance with these standards.
-Despite immense challenges, Ukraine stands united and resolute in the fight to secure its freedom and rebuild a brighter future. International solidarity remains vital in sustaining the nation through these trials.
