On March 14-19, 2021, Ukrainian delegation headed by the First Deputy-Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Dmytro Abramovych with participation of Deputy-Minister of Finance of Ukraine O. Kava and the management of JSC «Ukrzaliznytsia» visited the Republic of Korea.
The delegation held the negotiations with Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) Son Myoung-Soo and representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Korean National Railways (KNR) and the Korean Export-Import Bank (KOREXIM).
The delegation met with the Chairman of the Korean Side of the Ukrainian-Korean Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, Deputy-Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Lee Seong-ho and discussed the issue of providing assistance by the Korean Side of the Commission to joint infrastructure projects in Ukraine.
During the visit to the Republic of Korea the Ukrainian delegation held meetings with the management of «Hyundai Engineering & Construction» and «Hyundai Rotem» companies as well as with «Hyundai Corporation». Two Memorandums of Understanding and Cooperation with «Hyundai Corporation» and «Korean National Railways (KNR)» were signed on behalf of JSC «Ukrzaliznytsia». The delegation also visited the factory of «Hyundai Rotem», which specializes in the production of high-speed electric trains.
Furthermore, a Ukrainian-Korean business forum on cooperation in the field of infrastructure took place. The event was organized by the Association of Contractors of the Republic of Korea, members of which participate in the implementation of investment projects abroad. The forum was attended by representatives of such companies as «Samsung», «Hyundai Engineering & Construction», «SK Engineering & Construction», «Dohwa», «GS Engineering & Construction» etc.
The Ukrainian delegation also met with the Vice-Chair of the Committee on Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea as well as with the Chair of the Interparliamentary friendship group with Ukraine.
