Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Korea Vasyl Marmazov and first secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in ROK Petro Malaniuk participated in the annual meeting of the business community, which was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Korea on January 4, 2013.

During the meeting the President of the Republic of KoreaLee Myung-bak delivered his New Year’s Greetings. In his speech he said, despite the fact that the global economy was going through hard times, the current crisis could be a new opportunity for ROK to improve its position in the international community if the government, business and citizens would exert for this joint efforts.

Korean President also emphasized that in 2012 the country managed to reach the world’s seventh largest in terms of exports ($ 548.2 billion). According to him, the above mentioned became possible through the diligently fulfillment by the business community its key role in economy supporting. As a result, the Republic of Korea achieved economic growth, albeit slight (2.1%), while the rest of the countries recorded a drop in economic indexes.
