On the occasion of the World Vyshyvanka Day, Ukrainian diplomats together with representatives of Ukrainian community visited the exhibition of Ukrainian children’s art, which is currently held at Cheong Wa Dae.
“Children Drawing Hope” exhibition displays over 250 artworks from four children’s art projects in Ukraine – “Art Armor Kids”, “Mom, I see war”, “For God I create the best”, “Future for Ukraine”.
It is a joint project of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, Cheong Wa Dae Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the idea of which was born at the meeting of First Lady of Ukraine Mrs. Olena Zelenska and First Lady of the Repulic of Korea Mrs. Kim Keon Hee in July 2023, when the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol visited Kyiv.
Ukrainians have been celebrating Vyshyvanka Day for many years, but the war filled it with a new meaning. Today, the embroidered shirt has become a symbol of the unbreakable spirit of Ukrainians and demonstrates our struggle for freedom, national values and preservation of traditions.
We invite everyone to join us in celebrating Vyshyvanka Day by visiting the exhibition, which will be available for viewing at Chunchugwan of Cheong Wa Dae until June 3.
